Mabey Bridge has two highly automated production facilities in the United Kingdom with a combined annual production capacity of 65,000 tonnes:
One in Lydney, Gloucestershire and one in Chepstow, South Wales.

The Lydney facility is dedicated to the manufacture of the company's modular steel bridge systems. It has an annual capacity of 35,000 tonnes.
Production at this facility is high volume and repetitive in nature. State of the art fabrication techniques used include fully integrated CADCAM, eight robot welding stations and a
fully automated beam and fittings line.

The entire process has been specifically designed to ensure that the tight tolerances required in all of the panel
bridge systems are achieved and enable excellent fit up to be enjoyed on site.

World class manufacturing techniques including offline programming and simulation ensure the shortest possible lead times.
Following fabrication, all components are hot dipped galvanised by one of our long-term galvanizing partners. This is typical
of Mabey Bridge's supply chain philosophy: To develop long-term mutually beneficial relationships with leading UK and European supply partners.

Mabey Bridge's Chepstow facility has an annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes dedicated to plated and other heavy steelwork
fabrication and protective treatment.
It is also equipped with the latest in steel fabrication technology including fully integrated CADCAM,
Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) plate drilling, marking and cutting machines, plasma profiling; automated girder assembly machines and
robotic welding.

Following fabrication the company's large trial erection facilities allow part or complete structures to be trial assembled to ensure complete
peace of mind. Protective treatment facilities include aluminium metal spraying and painting to full UK Highways Agency and Network Rail
specifications. Handling facilities are available to suit the size of components manufactured which can weigh up to 100 tonnes and be as long as 50m.

Both facilities can operate 24/7 for 50 weeks of the year to enable even the tightest delivery schedules to be met with confidence. All work is
carried in accordance with Mabey Bridge's Integrated Management Systems which are certified to ISO 9001:2000,
ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
